The Alternative project reaches students around the country with its newly designed mobile units |
The day begins with a workshop in the Alternative mobile informational unit. The mobile unit creates a different environment for activities, and engenders openness and cooperation among the students.
During the workshop, students watch a film produced especially for Alternative, and then discuss issues concerning and affected by the individual
Later in the day, activities in the classroom focus on limits and personal and social responsibility
The programming provides a pleasant atmosphere, which enables open dialogue at eye level between the Alternative facilitators and the students
Throughout the day, the facilitators use experiential and demonstrative methods, and students play an active, major role in the activities and discussions
