The goal of the “Aleh“ project (“Aleh” is the Hebrew acronym for “Business for the Community”) is to strengthen the participation of the business sector in the general community. Zionism 2000 makes the initial contact between businesses and the community, and encourages business firms to initiate and support worthy social undertakings. The project emphasizes quality rather than quantity - much more is expected than just a cash donation.
Aleh was formed in the early 1990’s, when Ronny Douek, the Chairman of Zionism 2000, organized a group of businesspeople to initiate social activities in a number of new immigrant caravan sites.
Today, the project encompasses over 120 companies in a variety of business sectors. The project grows from year to year, as additional companies enter the cycle of Aleh activities.
Aleh aims at increasing the involvement of businesses and employees in social projects, by developing cooperation between non-profit organizations and businesses; and by providing individuals with volunteer opportunities.
Future activities will include ongoing efforts to maximize the cooperation between business organizations and the community. We will aim at expanding the level of activity in the peripheral areas of Israel. In addition, the project will build and implement a training program to deal with the ideology and content of the Aleh project. This program will be made available to companies involved in the project, and will provide them with tools to achieve their goals.
