I.T.L. is a public company listed on the Tel-Aviv stock exchange. The company, considered a leader in night vision technologies, develops, manufactures and markets electro-optic products for military and civilian use. Its products are sold mainly in Europe, the Far East and the United States. The company also develops, manufactures and sells laser instruments for measuring geographical data. ITL employs approximately 60 people.
After-School Center for Children at Risk
The center serves children from grades 1 to 4. The parents of the 15 children who attend the center are unable to care for them after school (for physical or emotional reasons), and the center serves as a substitute for the home. The children arrive at the center directly from school and stay there until the evening. They come home mainly to sleep. Much of their childhood takes place within the walls of the center.
The Project
Through Aleh, I.T.L. supports and mentors the center and the children. I.T.L. employees computerized the center, installed educational software and computer games, and support and tutor the children in these areas. From time to time the employees come to the center for social activities with the children. On holidays they bring their own children for a joint celebration. The project is now in its third year.
